Burton was a surfer Chris Fuller in Out of This World 1987. Then he appeared on Days of Our Lives 1988 as Harris Michaels. In the 1990s , he was studying acting at Theater Theater in Hollywood, California and was coached by Jon Cedar and Chris Aable. Burton first appeared as Jason Morgan in the daytime soap show General Hospital in 1992. He was awarded an Daytime Emmy Award in 1998 for Outstanding Supporting Actor In an Drama Series. In 2007, Burton also played Jason in the initial season of General Hospital: Night Shift.Burton was in the science fiction miniseries Taken and in the movie The Last Castle in 2001 together with Robert Redford and James Gandolfini. Burton also voiced Cloud Strife, the character in Kingdom Hearts and the Compilation for Final Fantasy VII. He voiced the character for Cloud in Kingdom Hearts II and its sequel, Kingdom Hearts II. He appeared in the CGI film Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children as well as the video games Dirge of Cerberus - Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core : Final Fantasy VII and Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy. On August 28, 2012 Burton made it clear that he would be leaving General Hospital in October. On January 29 2013, he joined the actors of The Young and the Restless as Dylan McAvoy.On October 6, 2016, Burton posted on social media that he did not renew his deal for the soap and that he would end his role as Dylan. In the year 2017, he received another Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actor. ABC Daytime announced in June 2017 that Burton was returning to General Hospital. Burton was dismissed by General Hospital in November 2021 for refusing to follow the COVID-19 mandate to get vaccinated. 11.
