Lupita Nyong'o

 Lupita Nyong'o (US Lupita Nyong'o, /lu/pi/t@or Swahili pronunciation : [lu'pita ngo[lu'pita noNGo] (listen); Spanish pronunciation of [lu'pita?noNGgo] born 1 March 1983. She is a Kenyan-Mexican[2two. She is the recipient of several accolades, including an Academy Award, and nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award.The daughter of Kenyan politician Peter Anyang' Nyong'o she was born in Mexico City, where her father taught, and was raised in Kenya as young as three. She attended college in the United States and received a bachelor's degree in theatre and film studies from Hampshire College. She later began her career in Hollywood as an assistant to the production. She made her acting debut in 2008 on East River. In 2009 she returned to Kenya to be a part of the TV series Shuga (2009 between 2009 and 2012). After completing her master's in acting at the Yale School of Drama, she pursued an acting master's degree. Soon after her graduation, she was given her first feature film role as Patsey in the biopic of Steve McQueen 12 Years a Slave (2013) and was praised by critics and received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.Nyong'o made her Broadway debut as a young orphan in the production Eclipsed (2015) in which she received a Tony Award for Best Actress in the Performance. Following her graduation, she starred in a role in motion capture in the film Maz Kanata in Star Wars: The Next Generation (2015-2019) and also she voiced Raksha in The Jungle Book (2016). Nyong'o's career was furthered by her role as Nakia, a superhero in Marvel Cinematic Universe films Black Panther (2018) and its sequel (2022) as well as her role as the lead in Jordan Peele's thriller Us (2019).
