Samantha Ruth Prabhu

 Samantha Ruth Prabhu, formerly Samantha Akkineni, was born on April 28, 1987. She is an Indian actress. Her primary work is in the Tamil and Telugu film industry. She is a recipient of several awards, including four South Filmfare Awards, six South Indian International Movie Awards and two Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Awards. She is a leading actress in Tamil and Telugu film. Samantha worked part-time modeling as she pursued a degree in commerce. She was soon offered film roles and her debut as an actor in Gautham Vasudev Menon's Telugu romantic film Ye Maaya Chesave (2010) brought her the Filmfare Award and Nandi Award for the best debut actress. Samantha is the only actress to be awarded both the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Tamil as well as the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Telugu in the same year for her roles in the films Neethaane En Ponvasantham (2012) and Eega (2012). She has continued to play the leading female character in Tamil as well as Telugu hero-centric films ever since. Her films include Dookudu (2011), Attarintiki Daredi (2013), Seethamma Valo Sirimalle Chettu (2012), and Kaththi (2014). The film she starred in A Aa (2016) also received positive reviews and earned Samantha her fourth Filmfare Award, while her subsequent movies Theri (2016), 24 (2016), Mersal (2017), Rangasthalam (2018) and Mahanati (2018) were also commercially successful. She won further critical acclaim for her performances in 2019 releases, Super Deluxe, Majili, Oh! Baby and Jaanu the only 2020 film.
