Jennifer Lynn Connelly, born December 12, 1970, is an American actress. She began her career as a model for children before making her acting debut in the 1984 crime movie Once Upon a Time in America. After being a model for a number of years, she chose to pursue acting and starred in several films, including the film of horror Phenomena (1985), Labyrinth (1986) as well as Career Opportunities (1991) and The Rocketeer (1991). Connelly was highly praised for her part in Dark City (1998), as well as her role as Alicia Nash in Ron Howard’s biopic A Beautiful Mind (2001). The films that followed were the Hulk film (2003) as well as the horror movie Dark Water (2006), the psychological drama Little Children (2006) and the action film Blood Diamond (2006). She also starred in the science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008). Connelly also appeared as a part of the romantic comedy He's Just not That into You (2009). In the subsequent decades she portrayed supporting roles in Aronofsky's biblical epic film Noah (2014) and in action movies Alita: Battle Angel (2019) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022). Connelly has been a regular in the TNT dystopian TV show Snowpiercer since the year 2020. In 2005, Connelly was appointed Amnesty International Ambassador to Human Rights Education. She was the model for Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and Revlon cosmetics. In 2012, she was named the initial worldwide face of the Shiseido Company. Time Magazine, Esquire, Vanity Fair and Esquire as well as Los Angeles Times have all featured her.
