Nikola Jokic (Serbian Cyrillic: Nikola Jokitsh, pronounced [nikola Jokitc] (listen); born the 19th of February, 1995) is an Serbian professional basketball player, who plays as a center for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a four-time NBA All-Star, he has been selected for the All-NBA Team on four occasions (including three selections to the first team) He also won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 2021-22 and 2020-21 seasons. He is a member of the Serbian national team. The Nuggets picked him in the second round in the 2014 NBA draft. He is also referred to as "the Joker". In the year 2016, he was selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. He was voted into the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2016. As he led the Nuggets into the Western Conference Semifinals he earned his first All-Star selection as well as an All-NBA First Team selection. He was also awarded All-Star and All-NBA honors the next season, while also leading the team to the Western Conference Finals. Jokic is among the most elite 10 NBA players who have the highest number of triple doubles (regular and playoffs) in which his team was the top European player and center. He also holds the record for the fastest triple-double , taking just 14 minutes and 33 seconds.
