He was the winner of the WWF Championship five more times in his first stint. His second reign was the longest in championship history. He is the only wrestler in history to take home consecutive Royal Rumble matches, winning in both 1990 and 1991. His fight with Andre the Giant on WWF The Main Event on February 5, 1988, is still the most watched match on American television's highest viewership record for wrestling with the record of a 15.2 Nielsen rating and 33 million viewers.In 1993, Hogan departed the WWF to sign for rival promotion World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Hogan won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship six times and is the holder of the record for the longest reign. He experienced a career revival in 1996, when he took on the role of the villainous "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and became the leader of the New World Order (nWo). As a result, he became a major figure in the "Monday Night Wars" which was another boom in professional wrestling in the mainstream.
