 John Christopher Depp II (born June 9 1963) is an American actor and musician. He is the recipient of numerous awards such as the Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, in addition to nominations for three Academy Awards and two BAFTA awardsDepp made his feature film debut with the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and was also in Platoon (1986), before becoming an teen idol in the TV series 21 Jump Street (1987-1990). Depp was an primarily independent film actor in the 90s.
