Stephen King

 Stephen Edwin King (born September 21, 1947) is an American writer of horror, supernatural fiction suspense, crime, science-fiction, as well as fantasy novels. The title is "King of Horror", a play on his surname, and a reference to his high status in pop culture. his novels have sold over 350 million copies and many of them have been made into films, television series, miniseries, and comic books. King has written 64 novels which include seven novels under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, and five non-fiction works. King has published approximately 200 stories. In 2003 the National Book Foundation awarded him the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. In addition, he was awarded the Medal for Outstanding Contribution to American Letters from the National Book Foundation in 2003. He was presented with a National Medal of Arts by the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts in 2015 for his contribution to literature.
