Gold Rush

The third season started in October 2012. The Hoffman crew returned to the Klondike to extract the Quartz Creek site but added additional crew members to be able to simultaneously work at another site in the area. Hoffman's problems with their equipment and the delays at the site resulted in their decision to join Dave Turin's Indian River team. Parker Schnabel returned to the Big Nugget Mine site with better and more powerful equipment as "Dakota" Fred Hurt and his crew returned to the Porcupine Creek site. The Turin crew produced 803 ounces gold, earning them over $1.28 million. Amazingly, this was just 3 ounces more than Dave Turin predicted they would get when asked by an executive producer of the Season 2 Aftershow. Parker and Dakota Fred made 191 ounces and 163 pounds, respectively, worth over a quarter-million dollars each. This was a huge success as compared to the prior season, where no team was able to recover more than 50 ounces worth of gold.
