The third season began in the month of October. In October 2012, the Hoffman crew returned to Klondike to mine Quartz Creek again. They also hired more crew members to work at a different site in the area. However, with Hoffman having issues with delays and equipment issues at his place the crew decided to join with the team of Dave Turin at Indian River. Parker Schnabel returned with more efficient equipment and a larger capacity to the Big Nugget Mine site, while "Dakota Fred Hurt" and his crew went back to Porcupine Creek to mine 803 pounds. They earned $1.28million. Parker as well as Dakota Fred each extracted 191 and 163 ounces of gold which is worth more than one quarter million dollars. This was a huge success when compared to the previous season, where no team retrieved more than 50 ounces worth of gold.
