Lyrical Lemonade was first created by Bennett as an online blog when at the high school of Plano, Illinois. The blog's name was given to Bennett by his mother, who also gave him the camera. He began directing music videos for local Chicago rappers, including Vic Mensa and Taylor Bennett who he uploaded to the Lyrical Lemonade channel along with live show reviews, cyphers, documentaries and interviews.The channel later diversified to other sub-genres within hip-hop that were not part of the traditional Chicago scene, including the burgeoning Soundcloud Rap sub-genre. In 2016 and early 2017 he began to gain recognition for his work with artists like Famous Dex, Lil Pump, Smokepurpp and Ski Mask the Slump God. His debut short film, "Lone Springs", was released on April 7, 2017. In August 2017, he directed the music video of Lil Xan's Lil Xan single, "Betrayed" that was certified Platinum by the RIAA in the year 2018. [4] He later directed a variety of music videos for songs that have been a hit, which include Ski Mask the Slump God's "BabyWipe", Lil Skies' "Red Roses" and "Nowadays" and YBN Nahmir's "Bounce Out with That".
