Skylar Mays

 Mays was the Tigers' starting point-guard in his freshman season. He averaged 8.3 points and 2.2 rebounds over the course of 31 games (25 starts) as well as 3.6 assists. [5] As a sophomore, Mays averaged 11.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists as well as 1.6 steals per game. 6 He averaged 13.4 points, 3.3 rebounds 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game when he was an undergraduate and was named second-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the league's scholar-athlete of year. [7][8] Mays made the 1,000th point of his career on February 26, 2019, in the match against Texas A&M.[9After the season ended, Mays declared for the 2019 NBA draft, but ultimately chose to return to LSU.Mays was named preseason first team All-SEC and to the watch lists for the Jerry West as well as the Naismith Player of the Year awards.He was also named the 45th-best collegiate basketball player going into the season of 2019-20 by CBS Sports.Mays scored a career-high 30 points on November 22, 2019 in a loss of 80-78 to Utah State.Mays tied his career high with 30 points and eight assists and seven rebounds on February 8, 2020 in the 91-90 overtime win against Auburn. Mays was named Academic All-American of the Year at the conclusion of the regular season. He was also picked for the First Team All-SEC Academic All-American of the year. Mays was also named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
