Skylar Mays

 Mays was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a student at the Louisiana State University Laboratory School (U-High) and started playing basketball for the team's varsity team in eighth grade. As a freshman Mays began to play basketball dunks. He made the first team of All State during his sophomore and third seasons. In his junior year his average was 9.1 points, 8.1 assists and 3.2 rebounds. Mays transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada prior to his senior year and averaged 10.9 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounding and 2.7 steals in his only season playing for the Pilots.Rated a three-star recruit, Mays decided to play college basketball at Louisiana State during his sophomore year. He then decided to open his recruiting to other schools shortly after he transferred to Findlay. Mays ultimately re-enrolled with LSU after having considered the offers of Baylor, UNLV, Oklahoma State, Memphis, California and Stanford.
