 abrina Fairchild is the young daughter of the Larrabee family's chauffeur, Thomas, and has been in love with David Larrabee all her life. David Larrabee, a non-working player who has been married three times, has never ever given Sabrina his full attention. Because she's lived for many years on the Larrabees' Long Island, New York estate with her father but to him she's still an innocent child.Eavesdropping at a gathering at the mansion in the evening before she departs for the Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris, Sabrina watches, is a follower, and watches as David entices yet another woman into a dark and empty tennis court. Distraught, she leaves her father with a suicide note. She then begins to start every car in the garage that is closed in order to kill herself. She is passing out of the fumes when Linus David's older brother, walks through the door and finds her. He takes her to her quarters above the garage , in case she does pass out.After two years of living in Paris, Sabrina returns home as a beautiful, sophisticated woman. When her father is delayed from getting her picked up from the station, a flirtatious David, passing by, offers her a ride without recognizing her. She accepts.
