Parent

A parent-in-law is a person who has a legal affinity with another person by being the spouse's parent. Persons who have a relationship through it have responsibilities and duties depending on the society they belong to. A person can be considered as a child-in-law to the parents of their spouse. If there is one is the case, they also are parents of any sibling-in-laws (siblings or spouses). In-laws are members of the family who make up this group of people. They are often stereotyped as rude, bossy, hostile, overbearing as well as obstinate and hostile. They are often depicted as the bane of the husband who is the mother in-law's daughter. A mother-in law joke is one that pokes fun at the irritating mother-inlaw character.
