Pop Smoke

 Bashar Barakah Jackson was born on July 20, 1999 and died on 19 February, 2020. He was known by the name of Pop Smoke. Born and raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn, Pop Smoke began his musical career in the latter half of 2018 with his debut single "MPR (Panic Part 3 Remix)". Pop Smoke rose to fame through the release of his breakthrough singles "Welcome to the Party" and "Dior" in the year 2019. Pop Smoke often worked with UK producers and drill artists, who employed more minimal and aggressive instruments than American drill musicians from Chicago and reintroducing the sound of the Brooklyn drillFollowing his fame-making rise, record producer Rico Beats introduced Pop Smoke to Steven Victor in April 2019. Victor was to sign Pop Smoke a record deal with Victor Victor Worldwide Records and Republic Records. He released his first mixtape Meet the Woo in July 2019. His follow-up mixtape, Meet the Woo 2 was released on February 7, 2020 and debuted at the number seven spot on the Billboard 200, becoming the artist's first Top 10 project in the United States.
