Martin Lee Truex Jr. was born on June 29, 1980. He is an American professional stock car race driver. He is a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 19 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing. Truex Jr. is the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion of 2017 and two-time Xfinity Series champion having won two consecutive championships back in 2004 and 2005. His younger brother Ryan competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing and Sam Hunt Racing, and is a two-time consecutive champion in the series now known as the ARCA Menards Series East. Martin's father Martin Sr. competed full-time in the East Series in the 1990s. His uncle Barney participated part-time in Whelen Modified Tour during the 1980s. [1] His cousins, Curtis Truex Jr. and Tyler Truex, are late model racing drivers.
