Lesley Judd

Born in London and the daughter of Leslie T. Judd and Hilda Madeline Haddock, Judd was educated at the private Arts Educational School, Tring Park (Hertfordshire). In 1959, she appeared in the BBC Television adaptation of Heidi in the role of Clara. The schoolgirl appeared in Z-Cars' episode "Person Unknown" (14 November 1962). Judd made her first dancing appearance on BBC television's The Language of Love, 1964. She was a hostess on the Associated-Rediffusion game show Exit! Ed Stewart hosts the Way-Out Show. Beginning in 1967 with The Rolf Harris Show, Judd performed as part of the dance troupe The Young Generation on several television shows, but then walked out in violation of her contract. When offered the role as presenter for the BBC presenter shortly thereafter, the BBC contracts department was furious that she was hired by the company once more and claimed that the contract was "watertight.
