LaVar Christopher Ball (born on 23rd October 1967) is an American businessman from the United States. He was the co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of the sports apparel company Big Baller Brand and founder of the extinct Junior Basketball Association (JBA). [2] He is father to three NBA players: Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo, Greensboro Swarm shooting guard LiAngelo and Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball played basketball and football while at Canoga Park High School, going on to play basketball at the level of collegiate basketball with West Los Angeles College, Washington State and Cal State Los Angeles. Then he played football at Long Beach City College for one season. He had an unprofessional career of a few months as a tight end for the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football, where he had a total of 28 return yards from kickoffs and no receiving yards. Ball was part of the practice squad of the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers and Carolina Panthers. He did not play any regular season games played in the National Football League. However the bold remarks he made in the spring of 2017 that led to him making many headlines in the national media. He stated that Lonzo, his son, is better than Stephen Curry. Also, Ball claimed that he could beat Michael Jordan one-on-1 in basketball. When he made similar comments regarding his company, Big Baller Brand, the company was both praised and criticised. Ball has been featured on television networks and has routinely drawn attention from major sports media outlets. He's been the subject of media attention for his criticism of the teams of his sons including the Lakers for their treatment of Lonzo, and also for his confrontation with U.S. President Donald Trump after LiAngelo was arrested in China for shoplifting.
