Richards and Kyle were sisters in The Car (1977). In Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell (1978), she teamed up with Witch Mountain star Ike Eisenmann. In the 1976 film Assault on Precinct 13, she played a young girl who was brutally killed after a gang member fired a round into her chest. In the following years, she appeared in Hello, Larry (1979-1980) as well as appearing on a variety of American television shows, including Emergency!, Diff'rent Strokes, Alice, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, CHiPs, Magnum, P.I., James At 16, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Rockford Files, Little House on the Prairie as Olga Nordstrom. She also appeared in Meatballs Part II (1984) as well as Tuff Turf (1985) as an adult in her teens. In 1990, she made Escape with her husband G. Monty Brinson. Richards was the character of Christina Ricci's estranged mom in Black Snake Moan (2006). She made a cameo appearance in Race to Witch Mountain (2009) in the role of the role of a waitress called Tina in a minor change of the character Tia she played in the franchise's film in 1975 and 1978. In the year 2010, Richards began appearing as a regular cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills along with her twin sister Kyle. Kim was fired as a full-time member of the cast after five seasons. This was because of her personal issues. In the sixth season, seventh, and ninth she returned as a guest star.
