At age 18 Knapp relocated to Los Angeles. There , in 2008, she hosted a cult internet video series titled 'Project Lore', which was a series that focused on the game of video World of Warcraft, and also worked as model prior to breaking into acting. Percy Jackson & the Olympians, The Lightning Thief: Aphrodite Girl #9 was her background role. Knapp also appeared as an Dance Academy girl in Couples Retreat. Knapp was first seen in major roles in 2012 as Alexis in Project X and Stacie Conrad who was an sexually obsessed Barden bella in Pitch Perfect. Knapp reprised her role in Project X's sequel in 2015 and also made an appearance in 2017's sequel. Rebel Wilson, her Pitch Perfect star, also wrote the script for ABC's Super Fun Night. She appeared in the Tom Vaughan directed film So Undercover as Taylor Jaffe. Knapp played a lead role in the debut season of the TBS comedy, Ground Floor, portraying Tori, a party girl, who gets caught up on her sleep on the way to work in the morning,[7however, her character was dropped before the second season. She was cast in the Lifetime pilot Cinnamon Girl, which did not make it into a series. Knapp was also featured in Wracked as Melissa the independent short film. In 2017, she was a part-time actress in the role of Samantha in the Lifetime Christmas television film My Christmas Prince.
