International Women's Day

 International Women's Day (IWD) which is a global holiday is celebrated on the 8th of March every year. It was initially organized by the Socialist Party of America, New York City, on February 28, 1909. According to certain sources, the earliest version was known as "Women's Day" that was organized by the New York's Socialist Party of America on February 28, 1909. German participants at the 1910 International Socialist Women's Conference suggested that "a special Women's Day" should be held each year, but with no specific time. The first International Women's Day celebrations took place in Europe the following year. IWD became a holiday of the nation in Soviet Russia on March 8 17th, 1917, marking the beginning of the February Revolution. It was observed by communist countries and the social movement. The holiday was linked to extreme-leftist governments and movements until it was adopted by the feminist movement worldwide in the latter half of the 1960s. After its adoption by United Nations in197, IWD became a worldwide popular holiday.
