Howie Long

 Long played college football for Villanova University in Philadelphia, which is where he earned his communications degree. Four-time letterman for the Wildcats He was chosen to play in the Blue-Gray Football Classic and was named the winner in the year 1980. Long was a freshman, and started all games. He also recorded 99 tackles. In his sophomore year in 1978, Long led Villanova in sacks, with five, and also recorded 78 tackles. Long was injured in his thigh, and missed three games. The following season with 46 tackles. As a senior in 1980, Long again led the Wildcats with four sacks and scored 84 tackles. Long was initially a tight-end however, he was soon transferred to the defensive side. He was primarily a nose guard for his first two seasons. Long was awarded All-East honors after moving to the defensive side and was Honorable Mention All-American in his senior year. [4] Long also boxed at Villanova and was the Northern Collegiate Heavyweight Boxing Champion.
