Hopkins first made an appearance in the miniseries Human Trafficking in 2005, later appearing in Canadian TV series and films, including the role of Samantha Clayton in a crossover of The Flash and Arrow in 2014, and was acknowledged as the writer of Girl Couch. Hopkins also appeared the role of Barney in Barney's Version (2010) alongside Paul Giamatti and Dustin Hoffman, and The Grand Seduction starring Brendan Gleeson in 2013. One of her most well-known roles was that of the character Jessica "Berlin" Rainer in the third and second seasons of the sci-fi series Defiance.Hopkins was promoted to series regular in the third,[8] and last season. Defiance was ended by SyFy on the 16th of October, 2015
