Eddie Hall

Hall placed first in the Britain's Strongest Man 2011 competition in Belfast in Belfast, with Ken Nowicki in second and Rich Smith in third.His win was made possible by setting a new national record in the "Viking Hold" by holding onto 20kg (44lbs) axes in each hand in full capacity for a total of one minute and 18 seconds. Hall suffered a ruptured the tendons of his right arm during the event however he was hopeful of securing a spot at the September edition of World's Strongest Man. The improved rankings didn't assure him a spot in WSM 2012. Therefore, he did NOT participate in the 2011. In winning the UK title resulted in Hall became the first choice to replace Jono MacFarlane from New Zealand in the Giants Live Melbourne event in February 2012, following the latter suffered a back injury. He finished fourth in his first taste of competition on the international stage. In April 2012, Hall was invited to compete in Europe's Strongest Man. Hall was there competing with six other contestants and also Zydrunas Svickas, two-time World's Strongest Man 2011. Hall placed eighth
