In the Laurel MLK Shootout, Booker scored 54 points against Northeast Jones High School, just nine short of Litterial Green's Moss Point record for most points in a game, established in 1988.He continued his performance with 32 points, which included a game-winning three-pointer, against Murrah High School. He was named ESPNHS.com's Southeast Player of the Week. [9] At that time, Booker's father informed reporters that Booker was receiving attention from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida, Alabama, Georgetown, Michigan and Missouri.Booker was confined to 14 points, with none of his field goals being made in the second quarter, in a 57-55 win against Gautier High School in the first round of Division 7-5A championship. Booker scored only one point during the championship game against Pascagoula High School. Moss Point was defeated by Pascagoula 32-32. This set up the possibility of playing an away match against Wayne County High School, the defending South State champion. Wayne County focused their defense on Booker, holding him to one first-quarter free-throw and securing a 57-37 victory that ended Moss Point's season. Booker averaged 22.8 points per game during the entire season, and was named South Mississippi Player of Year by the Sun Herald. This resulted in a victory of 57-37 which ended Moss Point's season.
