Coby Bell

Bell was the son of a white mother and an African-American father, Broadway actor Michel Bell. Bell was a graduate of San Jose State University with high honors before he started acting. Bell began his acting career with minor roles on a range of shows which included Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Parent 'Hood ER and Smart Guy. He then landed a thirteen-episode stint as Patrick Owen on L.A. Doctors. In 1999, Bell was cast as Officer Ty Davis, Jr. on the NBC drama Third Watch. He was one of only five original cast members who remained on the show throughout its all six seasons on NBC. In the course of the show's run the actor co-starred on Safe the Musical, a critically acclaimed play written by Third Watch co-star Anthony Ruivivar. The play starred Third Watch actors Jason Wiles and Yvonne Jung. Bell appeared in a Third Watch edition of the American version of the play The Most Weak Link.In 2005, a few months following the time that Third Watch ended its run, Bell landed a recurring role on the UPN comedy series Half & Half as Glen Stallworth, a San Francisco firefighter who was originally planned to have a romantic date with main character Mona, but winds ending up falling in love with her mother, Phyllis (played by actress Telma Hopkins). Despite appearing in only three episodes, his character was mentioned and referenced throughout the fourth and final season.
