Charley Jordan

 Charley Jordan (July 11, 1890 until November 15th, 1954) was a famous American St. Louis blues musician, singer and songwriter, as well as a talent scout, oiginally from Mabelvale, Arkansas, United States. His distinctive style was an ode to his roots in rural Arkansas. The Killer Blues Headstone Project placed the headstone of Charley Jordan. He also recorded numerous singles with Vocalion between 1930 and 1937. Peetie, Roosevelt Sykes and Casey Bill Weldon were among Jordan's musical associates. He was renowned for his "crisply firm guitar" He had the majority of his biggest hits which included "Keep It Clean" in the mid- to late 1930s. He worked alongside Big Joe Williams in later decades. In 1928, Jordan was injured in his spinal column. It was due to his additional musical work as bootlegger. This resulted in an ongoing disability that led to him walking with crutches thereafter (which is evident in the few photographs of Jordan available)Jordan passed away from violent or pneumonia in the year 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri
