New York-born Hawaiian siblings Pili and Ioane "E" temporarily move from New York to Oahu with their mother Leilani to support her father Kimo who's health and financial problems are becoming serious. Pili is a fervent geocaching lover, is delighted when she discovers that she has released an old diary from her grandfather's studio. E On his own, gets distracted by Hana, a pretty girl from Hana who has big dreams. As Pili is on a Goonies-style search for pirate treasure and the kids learn about their Hawaiian origins. Pili is supported by Casper the local kid who's smart and geeky, and E as well as Hana.
