Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (born July 30, 1947) is an Austrian and American actor and film producer businessman, retired professional bodybuilder and politician who was the 38th governor of California between 2003 and 2011. Time magazine named Schwarzenegger as one of the 100 most influential individuals in the world in 2004/07. Schwarzenegger started lifting weights when he was fifteen years old. He took home the Mr. Universe title in his 20s and was awarded was awarded the Mr. Olympia title seven more times. The man is widely recognized as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, and has written numerous books and articles about bodybuilding. The Arnold Sports Festival, considered as the second most significant bodybuilding event following Mr. Olympia, is named after his name. He was a part of the documentary on bodybuilding Pumping Iron (1977). Schwarzenegger stopped bodybuilding, and gained worldwide fame as a Hollywood action star, with his breakthrough in the epic sword and sorcery film Conan the Barbarian (1982) which was a box office hit and a sequel in 1984. [7] After playing the title character in the science-fiction film The Terminator (1984), Schwarzenegger starred in the sequels Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), Terminator Genisys (2015), and Terminator: Dark Fate (2019). He is also the creator of Oak Productions, a film production company.
