 Ariana Grande-Butera (/,a:ri'a:n@ 'gra:nde/'gra-ee-AHn@ GRAHN de;[note 1] was born June 26 in 1993) is an American artist, singer and actress. Her vocal range of 4 octaves has been widely praised as well as her private life that has drawn a lot of media interest. She has won numerous awards throughout her career, including two Grammy Awards, one Brit Award and one Bambi Award, two Billboard Music Awards as well as three American Music Awards, nine MTV Video Music Awards, and 30 Guinness World Records.Grande began her career in music at the age of 15 with the year 2008's Broadway musical 13. Her character of Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's Victorious (2010-2013) as well as Sam & Cat (2013) made her famous. After viewing YouTube videos of Grande singing covers, Republic Records signed Grande in 2011. Grande's 1950s-doo-wop-influenced R&B and pop debut album, [2 Yours Truly (2013) which climbed to the top ten spot on the US Billboard Hot 100. Grande's vocals and her whistle register on the album drew immediate comparisons to Mariah Carey.She continued to explore pop and R&B in her second and third studio albums, My Everything (2014) and Dangerous Woman (2016). My Everything tried EDM, and became a huge hit with hits like "Problem", Break Free and "Bang Bang". Dangerous Woman was her first of four consecutive top-of-the-line albums in the UK. Her personal struggles were a major influence on the trap-infused fourth (2018) and fifth (2019) studio albums, Sweetener (2018), which were both critical and commercial achievements. Sweetener was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and Thank U, Next set a record for the largest streaming week of a pop album . It also received nominations for Album of the Year. Grande was the first solo artist to make it to the top three positions of the Hot 100 and become the first woman to achieve the top position on the UK Singles Chart with the singles "Thank U. Next", "7 Rings" and "Break up with Your Girlfriend. She broke the Hot 100 record for the highest number-one debuts by debuting Justin Bieber's collaboration for 2020 "Stuck with U" with Lady Gaga. The latter was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Grande's sixth studio album, Positions (2020), focused her attention on trap music. The album as well as its title track were ranked at the top of the charts in the UK. In 2021, she teamed up with The Weeknd on the remix of "Save Your Tears", garnering her sixth US number-one single.
