 Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, Arabic: lwlydbnTllal Swd, was born on 7 March 1955. He is a billionaire Saudi Arabian businessman, investor and charitable philanthropist. In 2008, Time magazine's Time 100 list included him. The annual list features the 100 most influential people across the world. Al Waleed is a grandson of Abdulaziz, the first King of Saudi Arabia, and of Riad Al Solh, the first Lebanon's premier minister.Al Waleed was the founder, chief executive officer, and 95 percent owner of the Kingdom Holding Company, a company with investments in companies that operate in the financial services, tourism and hospitality and entertainment, mass media retail agricultural, petrochemicals, aviation, technology, and real estate sectors.In 2013 the company's market capitalization of nearly $18 billion.He is a minor shareholder in Zaveriwala Holdings LLC, and owns Paris' Four Seasons Hotel George V as well as a portion of the New York's Plaza Hotel. Time has declared him to be"the "Arabian Warren Buffett"In November of 2017 Forbes published Al Waleed as the 7th-richest man on earth with his net worth of $39.8 billion.On 4 November 2017 Al Waleed and other prominent Saudis (including fellow billionaires Waleed bin Ibrahim Al Ibrahim and Saleh Abdullah Kamel) were detained in Saudi Arabia, in an operation was described by the Saudi government called an anti-corruption campaign.
