Wesley Snipes

 At the age of 23, Snipes was discovered by an agent while performing in a contest. He made his film debut in 1986's Goldie Hawn vehicle Wildcats. Later that year, he was on the television show Miami Vice as a drug-dealing pimp in the episode "Streetwise" (first broadcast on the 5th of December, 1986). He was Michael Jackson's antagonist in the Martin Scorsese-directed video music "Bad" (1987) as well as the feature film Streets of Gold (1987). Snipes was also thought of for the role of Geordi la Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation. However, the role went to LeVar. Seven years ago, Snipes was a candidate and lobbyist for the role of Leroy Green in the 1985 cult classic movie The Last Dragon but the role was given to Taimak instead.Snipes's performance in the music video "Bad" caught the eye of director Spike Lee. Snipes declined a minor role in Lee's Do the Right Thing for the larger part of Willie Mays Hayes in Major League, beginning a succession of box office hits for Snipes. Lee would later cast Snipes as the jazz saxophonist Shadow Henderson in Mo' Better Blues as well as as the lead character in the romantic comedy for interracial couples Jungle Fever. After the success of Jungle Fever, The Washington Post stated that Snipes as "the most popular new actor of the season". He was then cast as Thomas Flanagan in King of New York opposite Christopher Walken. He was the drug lord Nino Brown in New Jack City, which was specifically written for him by Barry Michael Cooper. He was also a drug dealer in Sugar Hill 1994. Marshals and Rising Sun, as well as comedies like White Men Can't Jump, and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar where he played a drag queen. Snipes was in dramas like The Waterdance or Disappearing Acts.
