Snoop Dogg

 Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (born October 20, 1971) is known as Snoop Dogg (previously Snoop Doggy Dogg and briefly Snoop Lion),[note 1] is a popular American rapper from America. His fame began in 1992 when he featured on Dr. Dre's debut solo track, "Deep Cover", as well as on his debut solo album, The Chronic. Broadus sold over 23 million albums across America and more than 35 million globally. [2][33 Broadus has been awarded an American Music Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. He also received 17 nominations for the Grammy Awards. Broadus' debut album as a solo artist was Doggystyle, which was produced by Dr. Dre and released by Death Row Records in November 1993. It was released at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard's Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums charts. Selling 800,000 copies in the first week, Doggystyle was certified quadruple-platinum in 1994 and featured the singles "What's My Name?" and "Gin and Juice". Broadus composed the music for Death Row Records' 1994 short film Murder Was the Case. Snoop was the main character. In 1996, his second album, Tha Doggfather was released and debuted at number one in both charts featuring "Snoop's Upside Ya Head" as the first single. The next year, the album was certified double-platinum.After leaving Death Row Records in January 1998, Broadus signed with No Limit Records, releasing three Snoop albums: Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told (1998), No Limit Top Dogg (1999), and Tha Last Meal (2000). He signed with Priority/Capitol/EMI Records in 2002 and released the album Paid tha cost to be da Boss. In 2004, he was signed to Geffen Records, releasing his next three albums entitled R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece, then Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, and Ego Trippin'. Priority Records released his album Malice 'n' Wonderland in 2009, followed by Doggumentary in the year 2011. Snoop Dogg has appeared in motion pictures and has hosted numerous television shows, such as Doggy Fizzle Televizzle, Snoop Dogg's Father Hood, and Dogg After Dark. He is also a trainer for a high school and youth football league. In September 2009, EMI appointed him chairman of a newly reactivated Priority Records.
