Morgan Freeman

 Morgan Freeman [2Morgan Freeman[2 (born on June 1st, 1937) is an American actor as well as a director and narrator. He is renowned for his unique voice, and his various roles in a wide variety of film genres. Through his long career that spans over five decades, he has received multiple accolades which include the Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award as well as a Golden Globe Award.Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Freeman was raised in Mississippi in which he first began acting in school productions. In his early days as an actor on stage and was studying theatre arts in Los Angeles. He gained fame in the 1970s thanks to his part in the TV show for children, The Electric Company. Freeman was also in one of the Shakespearean plays Coriolanus and Coriolanus, which won the actor an Obie Award. Street Smart (1987), in which he portrayed a hustler, was his breakout role. He earned an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actor. He further gained acclaim through Glory (1989) and the biographical drama Lean on Me (1989) and the comedy-drama Driving Miss Daisy (1989) and the latter garnered the actor his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.In 1992, Freeman starred alongside Clint Eastwood in the western film Unforgiven; this would be the first of many collaborations with Eastwood. In 1994, he appeared in the drama about prisons The Shawshank Redemption for which he received another Academy Award nomination. Freeman also appeared in David Fincher's crime drama Se7en (1995), and Steven Spielberg's historical drama Amistad (1997). Freeman won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in ClintEastwood's 2004 sports drama Million Dollar Baby. He received his 5th Oscar nomination in 2009 for his performance as former South African President Nelson Mandela as portrayed in Eastwood’s Invictus. Freeman is also well-known for his portrayal of Lucius Fox in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005-2012).In addition his acting skills, Freeman has directed the drama Bopha! (1993). He also founded the film production company Revelations Entertainment with business partner Lori McCreary. He was awarded the Kennedy Center Honor, the AFI Life Achievement Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award as well as the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. For his work in theater productions, he's been awarded three Obie Awards, one of the most prestigious awards honoring excellence in theater.
