Robert Rihmeek Williams (born May 6, 1987),known professionally as Meek Mill is an American rapper from America. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and began his musical career as a battle rapper. Then, he founded the band that was short-lived, The Bloodhoundz. Atlanta rapper T.I. signed Meek Mill to his first record deal in 2008. T.I. signed Meek Mill to his debut record deal in the year 2008. In February of 2011, following his departure from leaving Grand Hustle Records, Mill was signed by Miami-based singer Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group (MMG). Mill's debut album, Dreams and Nightmares, was released in 2012 under MMG as well as Warner Bros. Records. The album, which was preceded by the first single "Amen" (featuring Drake), peaked at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200. In October 2012 Mill announced the creation of his own label imprint, Dream Chasers Records. The label's name was inspired by the mixtape series he has released. Meek Mill often collaborates with MMG label-mates. He has made notable appearances on MMG's Self Made compilation series, with his first two singles, "Tupac Back" (featuring Rick Ross) and "Ima Boss" (featuring Rick Ross) which were included in volume one. He released his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, in 2015 and his third album, Wins & Losses, in the year 2016. His fourth studio album, Championships, was released in November 2018 and it debuted on the Billboard 200 chart. Its lead single, "Going Bad" (featuring Drake) was a top-charting single, reaching sixth place on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Mill's most chart-topping single till date. Meek's fifth album Expensive Pain was released in October 2021. In November of 2017, Meek was found guilty of violating parole and sent to prison for a period of two to four years. He was then released to continue his trial after completing five months. Amazon Prime Video released a documentary series, Free Meek, that chronicles his struggles with the criminal justice system in August 2019. Mill was the executive producer for the show alongside his fellow rapper Jay-Z. Mill and Jay-Z are also co-founders the nonprofit Reform Alliance, which focuses mostly on parole, probation justice, parole and probation reform.
