Marilu Henner

 Henner who was a 1971 student at the University of Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago was the first person to take on the part of Marty in Grease's Kingston Mines production. When the production was discovered and relocated to Broadway Henner was asked to reprise the role but she decided instead to perform "Marty" in the touring company of the nation, along with John Travolta, who played "Doody". Other Broadway credits for Henner include Over Here!, with Travolta and the revival of Pal Joey, Chicago, Social Security, and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife. She made her first movie appearance in 1977's sleeper hit Between the Lines. It was a comedy that featured then unknown actors John Heard and Lindsay Crouse. Her second film role was alongside Richard Gere in the 1978 film Bloodbrothers.Henner came to prominence with the role of Elaine Nardo in the situation comedy Taxi as a single mother working as a taxi driver who dreams to be an artist. She played the lead role in the film of 1982 Hammett directed by Wim Wenders, which was produced by Francis Ford Coppola and starring her first husband Frederic Forrest. Henner was the opposite of Burt Reynolds in The Man Who Loved Women (1983) directed by Blake Edwards. Reynolds asked Henner, along with Shirley MacLaine (and Dom DeLuise) to be part of Cannonball Run II later in the year. In the 1984 film Johnny Dangerously, she was the lead lady and played the role of Michael Keaton's love-interest. She was in Perfect again alongside John Travolta in 1985. She played opposite Steve Martin as Trudi in L.A. Story in 1991. This role earned her an American Comedy Award nomination as the most funny supporting female character in the field of Motion Picture. She co-starred with Burt Reynolds from 1990 to 1994 in Evening Shade, a situation comedy that also featured Ossie Davis, Hal Holbrook, and Hal Holbrook. She was also seen in Noises Off (1992), and Man on the Moon (1999), which is a movie that is about Andy Kaufman, her Taxi co-star. Henner also voiced her Taxi character. Henner has guested on Match Game, Hollywood Squares and other TV shows. She provided the voice for Gotham City socialite Veronica Vreeland in Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1999) and reprised her voice in animated movies Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) and Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (1998). Marilu was her talk show on daytime. show, which she hosted for 165 shows in 1994.
