George Strait

 George Harvey Strait Sr. (born May 18, 1952) is an American country music singer and songwriter, actor and music producer. Strait is among the most well-known and influential artists of all time. [2] In the 1980s Strait was recognized for instigating the neotraditionalist country movement, famed for his authentic cowboy image and his roots-oriented style at a time that the Nashville music industry was dominated by country pop crossover acts. The neotraditionalist style he pioneered in country music has made him the "King" of Country Music. "Strait's success began when his first single "Unwound" was a huge hit in 1981, signalling the rise of the neotraditionalist movement and an admonishment of pop-country. Seven albums of his made it to the top of the country charts in the 1980s. In the year 2000, Strait was named Artist of the Decade by the Academy of Country Music, elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame and received his first Grammy award for his album Troubadour. Strait was named CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 2013, and ACM Entertainer of the Year in 1990 and in 2014. Strait was named CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1989 in 1990, and again in 2013, and ACM Entertainer of the Year in both 1990 and 2014. 8 Strait has accumulated 60 number one hits. 9 "Give It All We Got Tonight" The track, which reached number one in 2013, broke the Twitty record. Strait is the only artist to have the most top-ranked songs from every genre of music.
