Karen Gillan

 Karen Sheila Gillan, /'gIl@n/ was born 28 November 1987, and is a Scottish actress. Her work on British film and television brought her fame, particularly for her character Amy Pond, the primary character of the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who (2010-2013), which was nominated for and was awarded numerous prizes. Jane Lockhart and Ally were her first film roles as part of the romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending (2013). She also worked on the stage while in Britain, appearing in John Osborne's play Evidence (2011) prior to making her Broadway debut in the production Time to Act (2013).Gillan made her transition to Hollywood starring as Kaylie Russell in the horror film Oculus (2013) which was her debut commercial success in the United States, and thereafter was the lead character on the ABC sitcom Selfie (2014). Her international fame was based on her portraying Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) as well as Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). She will reprise her role in the forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). 3 (2023). In addition to acting, she earned critical acclaim for her involvement as writer and director in the dramatic film The Party's Just Beginning (2018) in which she also played the lead role in. The film has also been recognized for her image in the media and her activism, specifically for suicide prevention.
