Amy Adams

 American actress Amy Lou Adams was born on August 20, 1974. Known for both her comedic and dramatic roles her name has been mentioned three times in annual rankings of the world's highest-paid actresses. Her awards include two Golden Globe Awards and nominations for six Academy Awards and seven British Academy Film Awards. She made her film debut in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), where she played a supporting role. She also made guest appearances on TV and played "mean women" roles in low-budget feature films. Her first big role came in Steven Spielberg's biopic Catch Me If You Can (2002) However, she went unemployed for nearly an entire year following. The breakthrough moment came when she portrayed the role of a jovial pregnant woman in the independent comedy-drama Junebug (2005) in which she received her first Academy Award nomination.The musical fantasy film Enchanted (2007) which, in which Adams was portrayed as a cheerful princess-to-be, was her first breakthrough as a lead actress. In the following years, she played other naive, optimistic women in films like Doubt (2008). She was later seen in more assertive roles, receiving favorable reviews in The Fighter (2010) and The Master (2012). From 2013 until 2017 she played Lois Lane in superhero films that were set within the DC Extended Universe. Two consecutive Golden Globe Awards were won in her role as con artist and painter in American Hustle (2013), as well as Margaret Keane in Big Eyes (2014). Also, she was praised for her performances as a linguist as well as a self-harming reporter in Arrival (2016) on HBO and Lynne Cheney, from Vice (2018).
