Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette (nee Lazzara, born February 28, 1948) was an American actor, singer and children's author. She has appeared in television, film musical theatre, and in solo shows, as well as recorded recordings. Her professional career spans more than six years. She is a critically acclaimed Broadway performer, receiving seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, getting three. Four of her Broadway cast albums in which she has performed have won Grammy AwardsRegarded by many as being the foremost interpreter of the work of Stephen Sondheim,[1] Peters is most well-known for her roles on the Broadway stage, such as in musicals Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1984), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2011), and Hello, Dolly! (2018). Peters first was in stage productions as a child and then became an actress at the age of 15. She also performed in television and films during the 1970s. Her early work was well-received, in particular her appearances on The Muppet Show (among others) as well as The Carol Burnett Show (among others). Also, she received praise for her roles in films like Silent Movie, The Jerk and Pennies from Heaven. She returned to Broadway in the late 1980s and became one of the most well-known stars. She also recorded six solo albums , as well as several singles, in addition to many cast albums, and frequently performs as her own solo performance act. Peters continues to perform on stage in movies as well as on TV in such series as Smash and Mozart in the Jungle. She is nominated for four Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards, winning once
