Thandiwe Newton

 Melanie Thandiwe Newton OBE (/'taendi:weI/ TAN'dee-way;[1] was born 6 November 1972), formerly credited as Thandie Newton, is a British actress. Newton has been nominated to win two Golden Globe Awards and has received a Primetime Emmy Award as well as a British Academy Film Award. In 2019, she was made Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her work in charity and film. Newton is most well-known for her starring roles in Beloved (1998) and Nyah Nordoff Hall in Mission: Impossible 2 (2000). Since the year 2016, Newton has been playing a senile android, the madam Maeve Millay in the HBO science fiction western series Westworld, for which she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and two Critics Choice Awards, as and nominations for a Golden Globe Award, Saturn Award as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2017, she portrayed DCI Roz Huntley in the BBC drama Line of Duty. Line of Duty, which earned her a nomination for the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress.
