Teresa Palmer

Palmer was born in Adelaide, South Australia and was raised by Paula Sanders, a former nurse in a missionary hospital and nurse. Her parents separated when she was just three years old, and divorced in 1992 when she was just six. Kaaren Palmer is her step-mother. She also has two half-sisters, and two stepbrothers, who live with her father. [3][4] Palmer stated to Interview she "came from humble beginnings";[5she grew up in public housing with her mother. She was also regularly visiting her father at his farm near Mylor in the Adelaide Hills (which she later purchased as an adult). [2][6][7] Palmer was named in honor of Mother Teresa by her mother, and has stated that she had an "tough growing up" because of her mother's manic depression.Palmer was an undergraduate at Mercedes College, a private Catholic day school. [10] She received a casting audition in the local area, "Search for a Movie Star", in 2003. Her first role as an actor was dressing as a Strawberry Shortcake doll and as an assistant of the elf to mall Santa Clauses on the weekends for promotions in shopping centres near Adelaide. [12][1313 Palmer went to acting classes for a couple of years, and was featured in a number of commercials on television. 9 Palmer worked as a fast-food employee at Hungry Jack's, Rundle Mall in 2005. She was also employed at Supre, Mambo Australia, and Cotton On. After graduating high school, Palmer hoped to work as an animal rescue worker and eventually create her own animal welfare company. 17 years ago, she was accepted to a university to study teaching , and was taking a class on journalism. However, she had always wanted to be an actor. [2][18] She received an email from an agent about appearing in a film for students, 2:37. [5] The director had seen her head shot on the acting agency's website and asked her to appear part of the film. Palmer quit her university to be a film assistant.
