Michelle Pfeiffer

 Michelle Marie Pfeiffer (/'faIf@rborn April 29, 1958) is an American actress and producer. A prolific performer, whose screen appearances span over forty years, she became one of Hollywood's most bankable stars and popular sex symbols in the 1980s and 1990s. She has won numerous awards like the Golden Globe Award and a British Academy Film Award, in addition to nominations for three Academy Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award. She was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 200Pfeiffer briefly studied court stenography before deciding to go into acting. Starting her career with modest television and film appearances in 1978, she attained her first leading role in Grease 2 (1982), which underperformed critically and commercially. Unhappy with being cast in nondescript roles as beautiful women, she actively searched for more challenging roles and was rewarded with her breakthrough role in 1983 as the gangster moll Elvira Hancock in Scarface. Her roles in Married to the Mob (1988) and The Witches of Eastwick ( 1987) were also a success. She was nominated for the very first of six consecutive Golden Globe Awards. She was nominated for two Academy Awards for her performances in Dangerous Liaisons (1988), and The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989). The former was the first to win her an award of a Golden Globe Award. She played Catwoman in Batman Returns (1992), received her third Academy Award nomination in Love Field (1992), received praise for her performances as Wolf (1994) and produced a number of her own stars vehicles under Via Rosa Productions, which included Dangerous Minds (1995). She was at home to care for her family, and only performed occasionally in the 2000s and in the first portion of the year 2010. She played the role of Stardust's villain in Hairspray in 2007. Pfeiffer returned to the spotlight in 2017 with her roles in the films Where's Kyra!, Mother! and Murder on the Orient Express. She also earned her first Primetime Emmy Award nomination, for her role as Ruth Madoff in The Wizard of Lies. After her first appearance as a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she was The Wasp in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018). She then received her eighth Golden Globe Award nomination in French Exit (2020).
