Lea Thompson

 Thompson's most well-known role is Lorraine Baines McFly, the mother of Marty McFly. The first film of the Back to the Future trilogy was released in 1985. Thompson's character is the mother of Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, whom Marty encounters when she is an adolescent in the 1950s after his travels back to the past in order to prevent getting Lorraine fall in love with her instead of his father to be, George (Crispin Glover) and this leads to awkward scenes in which Lorraine finds herself attracted to him. In 1986, Thompson starred in SpaceCamp and Howard the Duck. Thompson sang a number of songs on the soundtrack as Beverly Switzler (lead vocalist of Cherry Bomb), for the latter film. The songs were released on the soundtrack album and on singles. Rounding out film appearances in the late 1980s, Thompson starred in Some Kind of Wonderful, Casual Sex? as well as The Wizard of Loneliness. Thompson was also a key part in Nightbreaker (1989), for which she was nominated for the CableACE Award. In the early 1990s Thompson starred as the mother of the character named Dennis in Dennis the Menace (1993) and as the main character in The Beverly Hillbillies (1993) and as a snooty ballet instructor in The Little Rascals (1994). She also appeared in several TV films throughout the 1990s, such as The Substitute Wife (1994) and The Right To Remain Silent (1996).Thompson had moderate critical and public acclaim as the star of the NBC sitcom Caroline in the City from 1995 until 1999. In 1996, Thompson received a People's Choice Award for Best Female Performer in the category of New TV Series, while her show was awarded the award for Favorite New TV Comedy Series. [11The 11-year-old Thompson was also in A Will of Their Own A Will of Their Own, an American mini-series Karen Arthur directed in 1998. The film is about six generations of females within one family, and their struggle to gain power and freedom in America. Positive reviews have been received for the film's premier on October 18 1998 on NBC. Thompson was back on stage after a brief hiatus and went on to appear as a leading character in a variety of Broadway plays. Later, she appeared on an TV show named For the P
