Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. Her leading role on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. Following the seventh season, Sedgwick received nominations for the Golden Globe Award in 2007 and was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Madeline Wuntch. She was nominated for the Golden Globe for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995).
