Robert James Ritchie (born January 17 1971) popularly referred to as Kid Rock (also known as Bobby Shazam),[1] is a popular American singer, songwriter and rapper. His music is a blend of country, hip-hop, and rock. He is a self-taught musician and has said that he can play all instruments in his backing band . He also has overseen production on every one except two albums.Kid Rock started his music career as a rapper and DJ and released his debut album , Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast (1990) on Jive Records. He developed a distinctive style in his later self-produced albums, The Polyfuze Method (1993), and Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp(1996). This album, Devil Without a Cause (1998) sold 14 million copies. The album, as well as its sequel, Cocky (2001), were praised for mixing elements of hip hop country, rock and country. "Cowboy" is his most popular single, came out in 1999. It is thought to be a classic in the field of country rap. The top selling singles include "Picture", (2002), and "All Summer Long," (2008). His output in music, which began with Rock n Roll Jesus in 2007 has been more influenced by rock and country music.
