Jane Seymour Fonda (born on the 21st of December, 1937) is an American actress activist, activist, and former model. Fonda is a movie legend and has won numerous awards which include two Academy Awards and two British Academy Film Awards. Fonda also received seven Golden Globe Awards, seven Primetime Emmy Awards as well as the AFI Life Achievement Award and the Golden Lion Honorary Award. Fonda's first screen appearance was the romantic comedy Tall Story. Fonda rose to fame in the 1960s when she appeared in the comedys Sunday in New York (1963), Sunday in New York (1963), Sunday in New York (65), Cat Ballou (1965), Barefoot in the Park (67) and Barbarella (1968). Her first husband was Barbarella director Roger Vadim. They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, a 1969 psychological drama. was Fonda's first major dramatic roleand earned her the first of seven Academy Award nominations. Fonda was an incredibly well-known actress in her generation. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress twice, for Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978). Other nominations for Fonda included for Julia (1977), The China Syndrome (79), On Golden Pond (81) and The Morning After(86). Consecutive hits Fun with Dick and Jane (1977), California Suite (1978), The Electric Horseman (1979), and 9 to 5 (1980) sustained Fonda's box-office drawing power, and she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Short or Anthology Series or Movie for the television film The Dollmaker (1984).
