DJ Envy

 A native of Queens, New York City, DJ Envy, then called DJ Shrimp, was tutored and mentored by a local acquaintance DJ Clue,[4] who introduced DJ Envy to the world of mixtape in the late 1990s. To aid him in his success in the field of disc jockey, DJ Clue took Envy under his wing. He was hosting exclusives and commercials for Jay-Z and 50 Cent by the early 2000s. After that was signed by DJ Clue’s record label Desert Storm. In 2003, he released his first studio album titled The Desert Storm Mixtape: Blok Party, Vol. 1.DJ Envy's big break on the radio came when he mingled once a month for Hot 97's show titled "Takin' it to the Streets", hosted by Angie Martinez from 12:00 am until 4:00 am. He later filled in when Martinez became pregnant. In addition, he co-hosted the morning show of Hot 97 with Miss Jones from 6 am-10 morning every day. His run on the morning show ended in July 2008 when Miss Jones moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hot 97's DJ Envy hosted his own mix show called "The People's Mix" Saturdays from 12:00pm to 2:00pm as well as "The People's Choice Hit List Sundays at 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Hot 97 featured a segment called "New at 2" where DJ Envy played the latest songs from 2:00 until 22:30. He hosted Hip-Hop Nation’s afternoon show on Sirius XM Radio from 5:00 to 10:00 EST during the week and was also host of an show on Power 105 from 2:00 to 6 pm on weekends. On Monday, December 6th 2010, Angela Yee and Charlamagne tha God started hosting The Breakfast Club on Power 105. In September of 2016 the DJ expressed his support for stop-and-frisk, and then apologized for it after repeated criticism.DJ Envy has made appearances on Juelz Santana's and Lloyd Banks's music videos "Beamer Bentley or Benz" and on a variety of television shows, such as 106 & Park, Entourage and Tha Corner, which he hosts on the Music Choice channel. Shadow is Shadow's antagonist and is featured in Blood of a Champion (2006). Also, he was featured in The Raw Report of Gucci Mane. On the 21st of March 2010 DJ Envy was named the VJ of MTV2's Sucker Free Countdown.He has recently dropped a single that is titled "Still A Fan" which features recording artist, songwriter, and producer "Rico Love." This leads many to believe the possibility of an album or mixtape in the future. His wife, Gia Casey, host a podcast called "The Casey Crew" that talks about the good ugly, bad and beautiful aspects of relationships and family.
