She is an American and South African actress. She is among the most highly-paid actresses in the world and has won numerous awards such as an Academy Award. Screen Actors Guild Award. Golden Globe Award. [4] In 2016 Time listed her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.Theron became famous internationally in the 1990s , when she played the lead role in the Hollywood films The Devil's Advocate (1997), Mighty Joe Young (1998) and The Cider House Rules (1999). The film received a lot of praise for her character as serial killer Aileen Wuornos, which earned her the Silver Bear Award and Academy Award for Best Actress.
